Spanner in the Works: Chugg Entertainment Replies!!

2010
03.04

It was a VERY exciting day today! I was idly scrolling through my HUNDREDS (not really) of @replies to @perthrants when I stumble across one from @ChuggEnt or as normal people that don’t Twitter call them: Chugg Entertainment.

You might remember from previous blogs, Chugg Entertainment are the promoters of John Mayer’s upcoming Battle Studies “Australian” Tour.  This is pretty much how the conversation played out between Me and Chugg:

I pointed out that Perth would please like to have a John Mayer concert this year just like all the other states in Australia. Then I sent them a link (or several) to this blog page. When that didn’t work I WOW-ed them with my extraordinary maths skills and told them that 510 people were passionate about getting John Mayer to Perth this year!!

I also made mention of Chugg in my last post and asked them if what I was trying to do was possible and reiterated that 510 people are EXTREMELY passionate about supporting John Mayer’s Battle Studies tour in Perth:

And what I came to realise today was that the good people at Chugg WERE listening! But I did not anticipate their reply:

They’d LOVE to bring John Mayer to Perth but can’t because of scheduling conflicts. Well Chugg, that’s not your fault!!! Thank you for replying to my tweets and my posts!!

I can feel you thinking dear blog-reader: “Is that where it ends, then? Are we done here?!? Can we go home yet?!?!”

Not exactly. I responded to Chugg with a thank you and a very important question, just to be clear:

With no response yet from Chugg and a lengthy, philosophical, introspective and analytical afternoon I have decided: No. I will not stop campaigning. I appreciate that Chugg have said that there are scheduling conflicts and I truly thank them for replying and letting me know, but I can’t quit now!

So, I’m changing the focus of my campaign. Instead of trying to get John Mayer and Orianthi to come to Perth (which is pretty much fruitless at the moment) I’m going to try and facilitate scenarios that may ENTICE them to come to Perth should their SCHEDULES SUDDENLY CHANGE.

I know all of you reading this blog (I’m talking to you both my two faithful readers!) are starting to think I’m a little bit crazy. Well, truth is – I just might be (but in a good way!).

At some point this campaign must end – and it will (probably when John Mayer has his first show in Australia in Brisbane on the 30th of April 2010 at which stage this campaign will have morphed into a “MAKE YOUR OWN JOHN MAYER CONCERT – AN INTERACTIVE LIVE SHOW IN YOUR PERTH LIVING ROOM”) but NOT TODAY!
